How we write guides
Every guide starts with research: manufacturer specs, university extension publications, and established horticultural references. We cross-check claims across multiple sources.
USDA zones and regional accuracy
Planting advice is tied to USDA hardiness zones and NOAA 1991-2020 frost dates. Our planting calendar covers all 50 states.
Corrections
We update guides when products change or readers point out errors. Each article shows its last-updated date.
What we don’t do
We don’t publish paid reviews disguised as editorial. We don’t recommend products we wouldn’t use.
AI assistance
We use AI tools to help draft content, but every guide is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a human before publishing.
